Artist Bio Donna J. Campbell
Several years ago I participated in an art therapy course and I was taught how to cut stained glass. My first project was a simple beach scene. The colours and textures of the glass I found fascinating as they change depending on the light. This was the beginning of my development as a mosaic artist.
I am self taught so if I wanted to create something new I research it. I start with an idea or a scene that inspires me, however during a project I allow the colours and textures to inspire creativity. Mosaics are like doing a puzzle, I enjoy bringing each piece to life one puzzle piece at a time and I hope you enjoy them too.
Becoming a member of Saugeen Artist Guild has allowed me to immerse myself with like minded people and although our mediums are different we all have that creative common thread.
