Susan Schaefer is a southern Ontario based artist who has been enthusiastically painting horses from a very young age. Her works in oil singularly capture the majestic spirit of the horse, drawing on her own life-long relationship with horses.
In creating my jewelry I work with wire in simple, graceful lines that will hopefully enhance semi precious gemstones and my hand rolled and hand woven Japanese paper beads, making as many of the components myself as is possible, including ear wires and metal work.
Sandra likes to use bright clean colours and paint in water colour and acrylic.
Her favourite subjects are flowers, buildings and landscapes.
She has participated in several shows in Toronto and most recently in Southampton art Gallery.
The owner and resident artist of Cedar Hill Gallery, Sandra was born in Kitchener, Ontario and has lived her life in Ontario. She currently resides in the Grey Bruce area. She began her career as an artist at the early age of 11, and has continued to devote her life to developing her craft. Sandra trained as a graphic artist at Sheridan College in Oakville and at Conestoga College in Kitchener. She has continued the learning process in multiple disciplines under talented artisans and today her work primarily features silver jewelry set with semi precious stones and glass fusion.
